Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Crane Mechanic for a government contract in Kings Bay, GA. The role focuses on diagnosing malfunctions, repairing cranes (portal, fixed, overhead, mobile) and related equipment, and ensuring testing confirms operating efficiency.

Applicants should have at least 2 years of journey-level diesel experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read technical specs and blueprints. Safety training and high-reach work are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years verifiable journey-level diesel mechanic experience.
• Valid state driver’s license required.
• Experience with MHE/WHE equipment and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read OEM/engineering specs, blueprints and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Analyze malfunctions, repair and maintain cranes and related equipment.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment using hoists and hand tools.
• Troubleshoot diesel engines and test repaired units.
• Direct workers for cleaning, assembly and disassembly as needed.
• Comply with safety rules and quality standards.
