Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Crane Mechanic to support a government contract based in Kings Bay, Georgia. The role focuses on analyzing malfunctions, repairing, and maintaining power equipment including cranes and diesel engines.

Applicants must have 2+ years of journey-level diesel experience, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work at heights up to 150 feet. Clearance and facility credentials are required for access at Kings Bay.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• 2+ years verifiable hands-on experience as journey-level mechanic with diesel engine experience.
• Valid state driver’s license.
• 2+ years experience at the structural/mechanical journey level in WHE/MHE equipment field.
• Must possess mechanical hand tools to service MHE/WHE.
• Ability to read OEM/engineering specs/blueprints/manuals.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment.
• Experience with electromechanical brakes and clutches.
• Experience using precision measurement devices.
• Ability to work at heights up to 150 feet.
• Complete NAVFAC crane courses within 90 days of employment.
• 8 hours NEC safety training bi-annually.
• Must wear ASTM F2413-05 safety shoes.
• US Citizenship required for facility credentials.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes malfunctions and repairs, rebuilds, and maintains cranes and power equipment.
• Dismantles and reassembles equipment using hoists and tools; inspects parts for wear.
• Replaces defective engines and subassemblies; tests overhaul efficiency; troubleshoots diesel engines.
• Directs workers in cleaning parts and assisting with assembly/disassembly when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
