Job summary

Maxim Crane Works in Arcola, TX is seeking an experienced crane mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair crane systems and related equipment. You will work on diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems and perform thorough inspections to ensure reliable operation.

Qualified candidates have 5+ years of mechanical experience (crane preferred) and 3+ years on diesel/gas/propane engines, with strong blueprint interpretation and safety focus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associates or Vocational degree preferred.
• 5+ years of mechanical experience, crane preferred, or equivalent training.
• 3+ years of diesel, gasoline, and propane engines.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, hydraulic and electrical systems.
• Operates hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks to move and assemble heavy equipment.
• Diagnoses defects and determines required repairs using measurements and blueprints.
• Tests repaired equipment to ensure compliance with OEM specs.
• Maintains and lubricates equipment; fabricates or installs replacement parts as needed.
• Examine parts for wear using micrometers and gauges; repair and rewire electrical systems.
• Ensure safe operation and adherence to environmental and safety policies.
