Job summary

Maxim Crane Works, L.P. in Jessup, MD is seeking an experienced crane mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain and repair crane systems from body to engines and electrical/computer systems on a variety of fleet equipment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Associates or vocational degree preferred for advanced roles
• CDL preferred or required depending on site
• 5+ years mechanical experience, crane preferred
• 3+ years in diesel, gasoline, or propane engines

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on diesel engines, booms, electrical and hydraulic systems, brakes and other components.
• Operate hoists, forklifts, and hand trucks to move, dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment.
• Inspect machines to diagnose defects and determine required repairs.
• Test equipment after repair to ensure compliance with OEM specs.
• Read operating manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
• Fabricate and install replacement parts using specialty tools.
• Inspect parts for damage using micrometers and gauges.
• Repair, rewire and troubleshoot electrical systems on vehicles/equipment.
• Repair and replace damaged parts on vehicles and equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
