Job summary

Michaels in Princeton, NJ is seeking an Event Coordinator to plan and execute in-store events, including children’s birthday parties, while delivering friendly customer service and a fast checkout experience. The role involves coordinating party add-ons, engaging guests of all ages, and maintaining store safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities include communicating with clients and staff, handling emails and calls, and supporting omni-channel processes like BOPIS/SFS.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality.
• Must have excellent people skills and strong communication abilities.
• Experience working with children and in hosting children’s events is preferred.
• Retail and/or customer service experience is required.
• Ability to manage multiple events and customer needs simultaneously.
• Willingness to work flexible store hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events (e.g., children’s birthday parties) in the store.
• Engage with clients of all ages to create a fun, creative environment.
• Demonstrate crafts and supervise party activities; perform face painting and related activities.
• Coordinate add-ons (goody bags, balloons) per company standards.
• Assist customers with shopping and checkout, enroll in Rewards/Private Label Credit Card programs.
• Handle emails, calls, and administrative tasks; adjust plans per client feedback.
• Maintain store cleanliness and safety; support stock, planograms, and merchandising duties.
