Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc., Newport News Shipbuilding division, seeks a Foreman Craft Instructor to lead and train trades personnel in a high-stakes production environment.

The role includes supervising, coordinating and evaluating workers, implementing training plans, and ensuring adherence to drawings and procedures to drive quality and efficiency. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for eligible applicants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree OR Apprentice Certification OR 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience
• Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

Responsibilities

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
• Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
• Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity and assists in development of training procedures.
• Ensures compliance with drawings and procedures in manufacturing, installation, operation, testing and processes with significant financial impact.
