Job summary

The U.S. Coast Guard's Community Services Command in Ketchikan, AK is seeking an intermittent bartender to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages, maintain a sanitary and stocked bar, and assist with inventory and cash handling.

The role requires prior bartending experience, knowledge of a wide range of beverages, and the ability to work with accuracy and safety in a fast-paced environment. Training and compliance with safety procedures are provided.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale with knowledge of beverages and ingredients.
• Ability to identify intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolve issues per procedures.
• Experience following proper cash handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare alcoholic or nonalcoholic drinks following established recipes and serve to customers or staff.
• Keep bar clean, stocked, and orderly; set up storeroom and work area for easy access to items.
• Handle receipts, cash, and inventory; maintain records of drinks and liquor demand.
• Complete required training for serving alcohol and safety procedures; report hazards.
• Adhere to safety and sanitation standards; promptly report injuries or hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.
