Job summary

Provo Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Provo, Utah seeks a Bartender to deliver exceptional beverage service to hotel guests, conference attendees, and locals in the bar, lounge, and event spaces.

This role requires knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine and spirits, outstanding customer service, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting. Must be 21+, hold a valid alcohol service certification or obtain upon hire, and be available for evenings and events.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience preferred (hotel or high-volume environment a plus)
• Knowledge of classic cocktails, beer, wine, and spirits
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Must be at least 21 years of age (or as required by state law)
• Valid alcohol service certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages according to recipes and Marriott brand standards
• Provide attentive, courteous, and efficient service at the bar and surrounding areas
• Engage with guests in a professional and welcoming manner, anticipating needs and making recommendations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area before, during, and after shifts
• Accurately process guest orders and payments using the POS system
• Follow all cash-handling, credit card, and accounting procedures
• Ensure compliance with all state and local alcohol laws, including checking IDs
• Monitor guest consumption and address issues discreetly and professionally
• Collaborate with servers, supervisors, and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations
• Adhere to all health, safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards
