Job summary

Nana Management Services, LLC is sourcing a Sous Chef for King Street Brewing Company in Anchorage, AK. The role serves as second-in-command, overseeing kitchen staff, upholding artisanal quality, and enforcing NMS’s safety culture in a high-volume craft brewery.

You will lead daily menus, ensure portion control, supervise prep and production, and train team members while delivering consistent plate presentation. Strong English skills and supervisory experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler’s Card or ServSafe Certification within 30 days of hire.
• Preferred three (3) years of documented Sous Chef experience with supervisory responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Knowledge and training in using a variety of food production equipment.
• Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served.
• Knows and complies with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards and kitchen rules.
• Prepares proteins (wild game, seafood, poultry) for cooking in diverse equipment.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation.
• Ensures catering activities are high quality, consistent, and cost-effective.
• Follows proper plate presentation and garnish setup.
• Leads in food prep during peak times as needed.
• Attends employee meetings and contributes improvement ideas.
• Meets with supervisors to discuss menus and issues.
• Supports an effective safety program.
• May supervise staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
