Job summary

First Citizens Bank’s Community Development Finance team manages CRA-related loans and investments to meet CRA goals. The role focuses on maintaining a network of high-value client relationships, originating and managing CRA-eligible loans, and coordinating with colleagues on multi-investor funds.

The position involves risk management, loan underwriting, closing, and preparing credit packages, with opportunities to contribute to reporting and portfolio analysis.

Qualifications

• Evidence of above-average financial analysis and credit under-writing skills.
• Experience with affordable housing, LIHTC knowledge is preferred.
• Experience in community development banking or LIHTC equity investing is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee portfolio quality and risk management for CRA-related loans.
• Handle loan underwriting, preparation, closing, and credit risk analysis.
• Prepare funding letters, RFP responses, and credit packages.
• Coordinate due diligence and lender negotiations for construction loans.
• Generate internal reports: portfolio, sponsor exposure, CSR, forecasts.
