Job summary

BHS seeks a Peer Support Specialist to provide mentorship and advocacy to individuals receiving behavioral health services. You will draw from your lived experience to empower recovery, building rapport and offering support in a compassionate, confidential setting.

Required CPSS certification by Washington HCA, with a minimum of one year in peer support preferred. Travel to assigned facilities is a component of the role, with expectations of strict adherence to regulations and documentation

Qualifications

• CPSS certification required by Washington Health Care Authority.
• Minimum 1 year of peer support experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a peer support specialist training program.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support and mentorship to individuals in behavioral health services.
• Empathize, validate, and connect with individuals navigating mental health or substance use challenges.
• Foster a supportive, non-judgmental environment for recovery journeys.
• Assist in developing coping skills and problem-solving strategies.
• Advocate for the rights and preferences of individuals receiving services.
