Job summary

New Mexico CYFD seeks a CPS Floating Case Worker to support two service areas: CPS Investigations and Permanency Coordinators. The role involves case management, safety assessments, and coordinating services for children and families.

You will be housed in a CYFD office, may travel for home visits and court appearances, and provide after-hours responses during rotating assignments. A Bachelor's degree in social work or related field is required; experience with children and families is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience working directly with children, youth, and families.
  • Ability to partner with community service providers.
  • Experience with youth in school settings is a plus.
  • Developing safety plans and conducting assessments.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and prioritize work.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate CPS investigations and assess safety and risk.
  • Conduct investigations, interview involved parties, and communicate findings.
  • Provide permanency-planning services to promote safety and well-being.
  • Complete contacts, visits, court reports, and case plans.
  • Travel for home visits, court appearances, and other case activities.
