Job summary

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS) seeks a Human Services Technician (CPS FBSS Unit HST I) in Lubbock to assist caseworkers with client transportation, supervision of visits, and required documentation. The role emphasizes teamwork, report accuracy, and adherence to state procedures.

Responsibilities include coordinating schedules, handling clerical tasks, and supporting family services while maintaining priority for child safety and program compliance.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent.
• One-year full-time social services, clerical, secretarial, administrative support, general office, or FPS experience.
• Thirty semester hours from an accredited college or university.
• Overtime may be required and travel up to 75% may occur.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation for clients to appointments as requested by caseworkers.
• Observe and supervise parent/child visits.
• Complete forms and data entry into IMPACT and other systems.
• Maintain calendar for scheduling requests by caseworkers/supervisor.
• Perform clerical duties (typing, filing, faxing, copying, calls).
• Promote respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and contacts.
• Attend work regularly per agency leave policy.
