Job summary

City of Norfolk is seeking a Family Services Worker II to conduct home studies, assess family needs, provide protective and supportive services, and develop service plans for children, older adults, and individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities include investigations, court documentation, and collaboration with law enforcement. A bachelor’s in a human services field is required or a related bachelor’s with two years’ experience. Signing bonus offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a Human Services field or a Bachelor's in any field with 2+ years related experience.
• Possession of a BSW or MSW and Virginia Social Worker license desirable.

Responsibilities

• Investigates referrals of abuse/neglect and assesses safety.
• Maintains thorough documentation and case files.
• Testifies in court and prepares affidavits.
• Collaborates with law enforcement and community partners.
