Job summary

Sandoval County is seeking a Court Security Officer to maintain order, escort prisoners, and provide security for District Court, Administration Building, Grand Jury sessions, Probate Court, and County Commission meetings. The role requires basic high school education and two years in security or related fields.

Successful candidates must pass background checks, drug tests, and a psychological evaluation. Prior military or law enforcement experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED plus 2 years security or court security experience or equivalent.
• New Mexico driver’s license may be required and must meet law enforcement or security training standards.
• Pre-employment background check, drug and alcohol screening, and psychological evaluation.
• Military, armed security or law enforcement experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Patrols the Sandoval County Judicial Complex and facilities on foot to deter disorder and provide security.
• Screen visitors at lobby information areas and during court proceedings to ensure safety.
• Attend court sessions to provide courtroom security for judges, staff, and visitors.
• Operate security equipment (X-ray, magnetometers) and monitor surveillance systems.
