Job summary

Shasta County Superior Court is seeking a Public Safety Service Officer I to support sworn personnel in the Marshal’s Office. You will perform clerical and security duties, assist with court operations, and help ensure a safe courthouse environment.

Under supervision, you will screen entrants, monitor security equipment, take fingerprints, prepare paperwork, and maintain logs and inventories. This non-sworn role emphasizes safety, reliability, and discretion.

Qualifications

• Completion of 15 college semester units in criminal justice is desirable and can substitute for work experience.
• One year minimum experience in public contact or clerical work.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building security and screen entrants for weapons and explosives.
• Assist sworn staff with court operations and fingerprinting tasks.
• Prepare reports, logs, warrants, and courtroom statistics.
• Monitor security equipment and conduct facility checks.
• Provide general office, clerical, and administrative support as needed.
• Train other employees and support court operations during shifts.
