• The Courtesy Clerk/Grocery Bagger is responsible for bagging groceries at checkout.
• Strive to bag at least five items per bag, ensuring contents are not damaged.
• Follow best practices for bagging in various types of bags (reusable, plastic, paper).
• Assist in removing merchandise from baskets for checkout.
• Offer to help customers load bags into their cars.
• Perform basic shelf conditioning and inform customers of grocery specials.
• Return merchandise to shelves, gather and return shopping carts, and maintain cleanliness inside and outside the store.
• Handle seasonal merchandise and assist with store layout and product location.
• Conduct price checks for cashiers and reinforce safety protocols, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Adhere to all food safety regulations and perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
• Create a welcoming environment by assisting customers and answering questions about products.
• Follow all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
• Work cooperatively in a high-paced, sometimes stressful environment, managing conflicts professionally.
• Act with honesty and integrity in all customer and business interactions.
• Follow directions and seek assistance when needed to resolve issues.
• Support and assist minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
