Job summary

Orange County Sheriff's Office in Orlando seeks a certified Deputy Sheriff assigned to the Court Security Division. Duties include maintaining security and decorum in courthouses, responding to emergencies, assisting with evacuations, and manning security posts at main and employee entrances.

Candidates must be Florida Certified or currently attending a Florida academy, be at least 20 years old, a U.S. citizen, fluent in English, and possess a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Must be Florida Certified or currently attending a Florida academy.
• High school diploma or GED required (certificate of completion not accepted).
• U.S. Citizen with valid Florida driver's license prior to hire.
• Verbal and written English fluency and ability to communicate clearly.
• Ability to validate courtrooms, holding cells, and jury rooms for contraband.
• Willingness to work in security-intensive court environments and respond to emergencies.
• Demonstrated knowledge of laws, procedures, and policies relevant to court security.
