Qualifications

• Completion of 15 college semester units in criminal justice is desirable and can substitute for work experience.
• A minimum of one year of experience in public contact work or general clerical work.
• Knowledge of public information and communication techniques; customer service skills; general clerical office procedures; automated systems used for information storage and document preparation; basic recordkeeping practices.

Responsibilities

• Maintains building security and screens for weapons at courthouse entry; inspects belongings for explosives and weapons.
• Assists sworn staff with threat assessments and monitors security equipment and alarms.
• Maintains logs/databases, prepares reports and warrants, and handles inventory records.
• Provides courtroom assistance and performs court attendant duties as needed.
• Operates holding facility surveillance and monitors inmates, cameras, and doors.
• Trains and assists other employees and performs related duties as assigned.
