The instructor will teach court reporting courses for credit and non-credit programs, contribute to curriculum development, and participate in college and district committees.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment
  • Any associate degree and six years of professional experience directly related to the teaching assignment
  • Possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area
  • The equivalent. Equivalency may include related education, training, employment and professional experience as determined by the District Equivalency Committee
  • Commitment to diversity and equity-minded practices; demonstrated sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Court Reporting classes for credit and non-credit programs to a diverse student population
  • Topics include credentialing and speed mastery and related fields
  • Participates in curriculum development and serves on department/division/college/district committees; engages in professional development
  • Supports student success through co-curricular activities and learning outcomes assessment
  • Maintains office hours, attends meetings, and stays current with instructional methods and technologies
  • Supervises and assists diverse student populations and may include evening/weekend assignments.
