Job summary

West Valley-Mission Community College District is seeking qualified part-time instructors for the School of Continuing Education to teach noncredit court reporting courses. Assignments are as-needed across Spring, Summer, and/or Fall semesters at multiple sites in Santa Clara County.

Qualifications

• Education & Experience – possess any one of the following: Bachelor’s degree and two years of occupational experience in court reporting or related field; or Associate degree and six years of occupational experience in court reporting or related field; or California Designated Subjects credential.
• AND Understanding and sensitivity to the diverse backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction for assigned courses, prepare materials, evaluate students, and maintain currency in the subject area.
• Maintain accurate class records, submit attendance rosters and grade reports, and follow course outlines.
• Maintain weekly office hours per section and enforce college policies.
