Job summary

Oregon Judicial Department’s Court Language Access Services seeks an Interpreter Scheduler to manage language access requests and schedule interpreters for circuit courts statewide. The role supports judges, staff, attorneys, and court participants with language services to ensure equitable access.

The position requires strong clerical skills, calendar coordination, and document accuracy, with bilingual ability preferred.

Qualifications

• The applicant must have a high school diploma or equivalent and three years of related experience.
• Experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Teams, and Webex Video Conference to input information, communicate with others, and complete tasks.
• Experience coordinating schedules and maintaining calendars for multiple people.
• Proficiency in writing and reviewing documents for accuracy, grammar, and punctuation.

Responsibilities

• Schedule interpreters and manage language access assignments across circuit courts statewide.
• Receive and document interpreter requests and maintain interpreter lists and agencies.
• Recruit prospective interpreters and negotiate pay rates; assign interpreters to courts and make travel arrangements.
• Reassign or cancel interpreters based on changing court needs; communicate with judges, staff, attorneys, and external partners.
• Provide administrative support including correspondence, records retrieval, and research; mentor others and participate in special projects.
