State of Connecticut Judicial Branch, Superior Court Operations Division, seeks Court Interpreter I to perform simultaneous, consecutive, and sight interpreting from English into Spanish or Portuguese and reverse in a variety of court proceedings, hearings, and conferences, in person or by remote devices.

The role involves making court announcements in the target language, maintaining records, preparing activity reports, entering data into systems, and participating in study and training

Qualificações

• Demonstrated ability to perform simultaneous, consecutive and sight interpreting and written language proficiency in the target language.
• Incumbents will be required to travel in the course of daily work.

Responsabilidades

• Interpret in court proceedings, hearings, attorney/client conferences, and related matters in person or by remote devices.
• Make court announcements in Spanish or Portuguese as directed by the judge.
• Prepare activity reports and enter data into automated recordkeeping systems.
