Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent with a legal/management certificate.
  • Minimum 1 year legal experience or 3 years legal experience.
  • Typing speed of 50 wpm and basic computer proficiency.
  • Attention to detail, strong organization, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn and use in-house court software and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of court events and filings from initiation through disposition.
  • Prepare and organize electronic files and assist judge with critical issues.
  • Take complete minutes of court proceedings and record appearances, rights advisement, motions, witnesses, and orders.
  • Administer oaths to witnesses, interpreters, jurors, and bailiffs.
  • Prepare court orders, judgments, warrants and other documents for review and signature.
  • Assist the public with information, records, and directions; support co-workers.
  • Follow safety policies and embody Wood County core values and conduct.
