The California Department of Industrial Relations is seeking an Office Technician (Typing) to perform highly skilled clerical work in the Workers Compensation Division. You will evaluate incoming legal documents using EAMS and support the Disability Evaluation Unit, workers' compensation judges, and court personnel.
The position requires a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute and a valid typing certificate before hire. A hybrid work schedule is offered in accordance with DIR policies.
Under the general direction of the Office Services Supervisor II, the Office Technician (OT) (Typing) serves as the Court Clerk in the Workers Compensation Division, performing a wide range of the most difficult clerical duties. In that role, the OT evaluates a variety of incoming legal documents and correspondence using the Electronic Adjudication Management System (EAMS). The incumbent will also provide assistance to the Disability Evaluation Unit (DEU), the workers' compensation judges, and court personnel.

This position is located at: 1880 N Main Street, Suite 100, Salinas, CA 93906. The OT(T) works in a smoke-free DWC Office under LED lighting, controlled temperature, quiet to moderate noise levels; equipped with cubicles computer, and other office equipment. Ability to retrieve and transport legacy box files in a safe manner.

The position requires the ability to type at a minimum speed of not less than 40 words per minute for ordinary manuscript or printed typewritten materials. A valid typing certificate confirming the ability to meet the minimum typing speed must be obtained prior to being hired.
