Job summary

Delaware Family Court in Georgetown, DE seeks an entry-level Judicial Case Manager I to support case flow across the court. You will assess filings, coordinate events, and prepare case materials while upholding confidentiality and accuracy.

Qualifications

• Six months’ experience in managing cases as they move through the legal process.
• Six months’ experience in applying laws, rules, regulations, standards, policies and procedures.
• Six months’ experience in using an automated information system to enter, update, modify, delete, retrieve/inquire and report on data.
• Knowledge of narrative report writing.

Responsibilities

• Assesses case filings to determine placement in case track/program or recommends referral to alternative case tracks.
• Liaises with internal and external stakeholders, judicial officers, court users, justice partners, and the public to coordinate activities and explain court processes.
• Creates and maintains case files ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Monitors and coordinates case activity through multiple legal events and processes and expedites where delays occur.
• Researches case files and coordinates with resources to ensure data accuracy and resolve issues.
• Coordinates case activity with judicial officers, attorneys, law enforcement, and litigants.
• Advises judicial officers regarding various case events leading to final disposition.
• Establishes and maintains contacts with the legal community and other agencies to expedite case flow.
• Attends court proceedings including annotating worksheets, facilitating data entry, and marking evidence.
• Uses automated information systems to manage data and generate reports.
• Arranges delivery for legal paperwork and correspondence.
• May manage court calendars or schedules and generate notices.
