Job summary

Denton County is seeking a Deputy Constable to perform specialized law enforcement duties and clerical work serving civil papers, warrants, summons, writs, and restraining orders. The role includes maintaining records, reports, bailiff duties in the Justice of the Peace Court, and other assigned tasks to support the Constable's Office.

You will patrol, respond to calls, seize evictions, direct traffic, file court documents, and escort inmates.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certification as a Peace Officer in Texas is required.
• Valid driver’s license; ability to obtain Texas license within 90 days.
• Must pass State Criminal History background check.
• Ability to maintain logs and records.

Responsibilities

• Serve criminal and civil process including warrants, summons, writs, and subpoenas.
• Perform bailiff duties in Justice of the Peace Court and escort inmates.
• Conduct seizures, evictions, and impounds as needed.
• Patrol assigned area, direct traffic, issue citations, and respond to calls.
• Prepare criminal cases, files, and maintain logs and records.
