Job summary

Denton County seeks a Chief Deputy Constable to supervise and coordinate the Constable's Office across the precinct. The role includes training deputies, budgeting, and ensuring civil and criminal papers are properly served and court bailiff duties performed.

The ideal candidate has an Associate's degree or higher, Texas Peace Officer certification, and at least three years in law enforcement supervision; bilingual skills are preferred and a valid Texas driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree and minimum three years of related experience.
• Texas Peace Officer certification required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain Texas license within 90 days.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Deputies and office staff; assist in budget preparation and expenditure monitoring.
• Serve civil and criminal papers; act as court bailiff and transport prisoners.
• Direct traffic, issue citations, and respond to citizen inquiries.
• Oversee department's vehicle fleet maintenance and repairs.
• Develop operational policies and coordinate training programs.
• Recruitment, selection, training, discipline, and dismissal of staff.
• Prepare Writs of Executions and supervise related assignments.
