Job summary

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Certification as a Peace officer in the State of Texas is required.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas Driver's license within 90 days.
  • Must be able to pass a State Criminal History background check.

Responsibilities

  • Serve civil papers, warrants, summons, writs, and related court documents.
  • Maintain logs, records, and reports for assigned duties.
  • Perform Bailiff duties in the Justice of the Peace Court and escort inmates.
  • Conduct seizures, evictions, and related enforcement actions.
  • Patrol assigned areas, respond to calls, and apprehend suspects.
  • Prepare criminal cases, files, and distribute records.
  • Assist the public and explain documents; ensure proper service of papers.
