Job summary

Denton County is seeking a Deputy Constable to perform specialized law enforcement duties and clerical work serving civil papers. Work includes serving warrants, summons, writs, restraining orders, and related court documents, as well as maintaining records and reports.

The deputy also serves as court bailiff, conducts seizures and evictions, patrols the county, responds to calls, escorts inmates, and handles deposits; required Texas Peace Officer certification, a valid driver's license, and

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certification as a Peace officer in the State of Texas is required.
• Possession of a valid driver's license. Must be able to obtain a State of Texas Driver's license within 90 days.
• Must be able to pass a State Criminal History background check.

Responsibilities

• Serve civil papers, warrants, summons, writs, and related court documents.
• Maintain logs, records, and reports for assigned duties.
• Perform Bailiff duties in the Justice of the Peace Court and escort inmates.
• Conduct seizures, evictions, and related enforcement actions.
• Patrol assigned areas, respond to calls, and apprehend suspects.
• Prepare criminal cases, files, and distribute records.
• Assist the public and explain documents; ensure proper service of papers.
