Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples as Full-time Flex Houseparents to live in student homes and supervise 8–13 students. The role follows a nine days on, three days off schedule, with progression toward a placed houseparent after initial placement.

Salary is $46,917 per person, with total compensation around $180,000 per couple including housing, meals, and benefits. Comprehensive insurance, retirement savings, relocation assistance, and paid training are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with youth work or volunteering with youth.
• Couples, legally married, for at least two years.
• Both spouses aged 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet restrictions: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Comfort leading devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning development and recreation.
• Leading daily devotions and attending Sunday Chapel with students.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
