Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks a married couple to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents, living on campus and guiding 8–13 students in a family-like home. Responsibilities include supervision, scheduling, wellness support, and daily devotions.

The role transitions from nine days on / three days off to a Placed Houseparent position with ongoing student living duties. Competitive benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Couples role for two years married (two-person role).
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism; MHS staff serve as role models for students.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship
• Managing household routines and student schedules
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness
• Driving students to activities, planning and engaging in development and recreational activities
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting
