Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA, seeks married couples to join as Full-time Flex Houseparents living in on-campus student homes. You will provide care, supervision and mentorship for 8–13 students, supporting their academic, emotional and social development in a structured family-like setting.

The role begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with potential progression to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students. Comprehensive benefits apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses age 27+.
• No more than three dependent children in the home.
• Smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limits: fish and one dog of approved breeds.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student vans.
• Ability to lead daily devotions and Judeo-Christian Sunday Chapel services (no proselytizing).
• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship to students.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Drive students to activities and plan development/recreational activities.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
