Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) is seeking married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents at our Hershey, PA campus. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, supervision, and support for 8-13 students, fostering academic, emotional, and social development.

Responsibilities include daily supervision, health and wellness oversight, scheduling, devotions, and budgeting. The role starts with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three off, with progression to a placed home

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and chapel attendance.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes on a nine-on, three-off schedule; progressing to a fixed home.
