Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA seeks married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus homes, provide care and supervision for 8–13 students, and coordinate daily routines, activities, and devotions. The role begins with a rotating 9 consecutive days on duty followed by 3 days off.

Candidates must be married for at least two years, both 27+, with a high school diploma or GED. The position offers housing, meals, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Valid U.S. driver’s license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services (proselytizing prohibited).
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental and recreational events.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially supporting various student homes with a nine-on / three-off duty cycle; later transitioning to a fixed student home.
