Job summary

Milton Hershey School (MHS) in Hershey, PA, is hiring married couples to serve as Full-time Flex Houseparents. Couples reside in on-campus student homes, provide care, guidance, supervision, and support for a group of approximately 8–13 students.

Flex Houseparents handle daily supervision, routines, activities, and devotions, with a nine-on, three-off schedule. The role transitions to a placed houseparent, living with the same students in their own home.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• Both spouses must be legally married for at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily supervision and mentorship.
• Manage household routines and student schedules.
• Administer medications and ensure student wellness.
• Plan and actively engage in developmental and recreational activities with students.
• Lead daily devotions and accompany students to Sunday Chapel.
• Oversee budgeting and household reporting.
• Initially support various student homes on a 9-on/3-off schedule.
• Transition to a placed houseparent living with the same group of students.
