Job summary

The County of Santa Barbara’s Behavioral Wellness Department seeks a Clinical Training Manager to oversee department-wide staff training, workforce development, and clinical supervision. This leadership role coordinates training across the division, supervises multiple teams, and ensures high-quality, compliant programs for staff, contract providers, and community partners.

The ideal candidate brings experience in regulatory training, grant writing, internship oversight, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Knowledge of mandated and required regulatory training for staff.
• Evidence-based practices knowledge for behavioral health services.
• Excellent oral and written communication with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to interpret complex contractual information for clients.
• Experience coordinating training activities and team collaboration.
• Experience with grant writing and grant management.
• Knowledge of internship development and supervision.
• Bilingual English & Spanish is desirable; fluency may be tested.

Responsibilities

• Provide department-wide managerial oversight of staff training, workforce development, clinical supervision, policy and procedures, and safety/privacy functions.
• Lead and coordinate clinical training activities across the department and supervise Training, Policy & Procedures and Privacy & Safety Teams.
• Ensure high-quality, compliant, and clinically relevant training for staff, contractors, and community partners.
• Coordinate grant writing and special project development and oversee workforce development and internship programs.
• Liaise with educational institutions, professional trainers, licensing bodies, and county/state behavioral health agencies.
