Job summary

The Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Family and Children Services, seeks a County Director 4 in Albany, Dougherty County, to lead Child Welfare Services and the local DFCS office.

You will oversee policies, budgets, staff, and partnerships to safeguard children and strengthen families, with a focus on training, staff development, and service excellence. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related area from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience including two (2) years of management of subordinate managers/supervisors in a human service delivery program.
• Or Bachelor's degree in a related area and two (2) years of experience at the lower level County Dir 3, Child Welfare Svcs or position equivalent.
• Related qualifications include social work, psychology, sociology, child development, family studies, criminal justice, education, public health and public administration.
• Related experience include the provision of services in a social services environment.

Responsibilities

• Analyses and assesses the effectiveness of policies and programs to ensure outcome measures are achieved.
• Ensures agency compliance with policies, documentation and reporting requirements.
• Builds cooperative team-oriented environments within units and with other agencies and providers.
• Maintains positive relationships within the community and with the county DFCS Board.
• Develops and administers budgets.
• Leads interviews, hires, trains, evaluates and, when necessary, disciplines staff.
• Leads a comprehensive system of public assistance, employability, and social services.
• Manages human resources and directs administrative activities for groups of social services employees.
• Plans, administers, and maintains operation of social services programs.
• Reviews new and current programs for efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance.
