Responsibilities

Renders oral and written legal opinions to the Board of Commissioners, County Administration, and staff.
Prepares court papers, contracts, ordinances, resolutions, deeds, leases, and other legal documents.
Represents the County in lawsuits and administrative hearings; prepares cases for trial.
Reviews the legality and sufficiency of contracts, bonds, bids, leases, insurance, and claims.
Performs legal research and analyzes legislation affecting the County.
Advises on matters presented at County meetings and with County departments.
Ensures compliance with applicable codes, laws, rules, and procedures; maintains records.
