Qualifications

• Juris Doctor Degree from an accredited law school required.
• Must be a member of the Georgia State Bar in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Renders oral and written legal opinions to County leadership and staff.
• Prepares court papers, contracts, ordinances, resolutions, deeds, and leases.
• Reviews legality of contracts, bonds, bids, and insurance.
• Represents County in lawsuits and administrative hearings as needed.
• Assists with compliance of codes, laws, and procedures; conducts training.
• Conducts legal research and analyzes legislation affecting the County.
• Communicates with the public regarding ordinances and legal matters.
• Maintains records and supports planning and executive meetings.
