Job summary

The Benton County Accounting Manager role in Bentonville, AR reports to the comptroller and supports development of the County Budget. The incumbent helps maintain the general accounting system and ensures compliance with GAAP and audits.

He/she coordinates purchasing, payroll, and financial reporting while guiding department budgeting. The position supervises two accounting staff, liaises with elected officials and the Finance Committee, and drives process improvements for accurate, timely

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or closely related field.
• Minimum of three years experience in financial management and accounting supervisory experience.
• Solid data processing and computer knowledge with spreadsheet and word processing experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining the countywide general accounting system, general ledger and budget in accordance with regulations.
• Oversee paying bills, code accounts, monitor dept budgets and assist in financial reporting.
• Coordinate changes in fund accounting procedures and assist in audit preparation and responses.
• Supervise payroll processes and assist HR to maintain internal controls and efficiencies.
