Job summary

StartupNWA seeks an experienced Accountant to oversee the processing of all city disbursements (excluding payroll) and ensure compliance with city policies. The role will assist the Accounting Manager with reconciliations and other tasks while promoting streamlined departmental operations.

The position also involves supervising 2–3 Accounting Specialists, handling accounts payable and revenue reconciliations in a fast-paced public-sector environment in Bentonville, AR.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; six years of experience or equivalent.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to present before groups.
• Ability to read and interpret documents; prepare reports and correspondence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee processing of all disbursements excluding payroll.
• Supervise Accounts Payable Department; ensure accurate, timely invoice processing and vendor payments.
• Assist Accounting Manager with reconciliations and other duties; promote process improvements.
• Supervise 2–3 Accounting Specialists.
• Perform daily revenue import, postings and reconciliations; reconcile bank accounts.
