Job summary

Ferguson Enterprises, LLC seeks a knowledgeable Counter Sales Associate to assist plumbing and HVAC contractor customers at the counter, on the phone, and by email. You will build relationships, learn product knowledge, and drive sales through upselling and program promotion.

The role requires strong communication, a sales mindset, and the ability to manage orders, inventory, and customer timelines while maintaining a high standard of service.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in customer service or sales preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in plumbing/HVAC or related industry strongly preferred.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals, build relationships, and influence purchasing decisions.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers proactively at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand their needs and recommend solutions.
• Serve as a product expert by continuously learning and applying knowledge of plumbing, HVAC and related products to guide customer decisions.
• Drive sales growth by identifying opportunities to upsell, cross-sell, and promote strategic products and programs.
• Utilize catalogs, computer systems, and manufacturer databases to locate parts and provide accurate information.
• Process transactions efficiently while ensuring accuracy and a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales Associates to support account growth and deliver seamless service.
• Manage special orders and follow up on order status, back-orders, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional, organized counter environment reflecting commitment to quality and service.
• Assist with inventory management, cycle counts, and stock organization.
