Job summary

Etna Supply in Detroit, MI seeks a Counter Associate to deliver outstanding customer service and support counter, warehouse, and yard operations. You will process sales orders, answer questions, and ensure accurate picking, packaging, and staging of customer orders.

The role emphasizes safe handling, attention to detail, and collaboration with teammates to maintain an organized work environment while we support multiple lines of business across the region.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; or
• 1–2 years of related experience and training; or
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent customer experience by meeting or exceeding customer expectations
• Assist counter customers by answering questions, identifying needs, and processing sales orders
• Pick, package, and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently, typically within one hour of order release
• Understand warehouse/yard layout, bin locations, and product inventory
• Verify orders, label materials, complete documentation, and stage orders in designated locations
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage, shipping errors, and inventory discrepancies
• Operate material handling equipment safely and follow all safety procedures
• Support stocking, cleanliness, and organization of the counter, warehouse, and yard
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships and support product promotions
• Assist warehouse and other team members as needed
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance and work safely at all times
