Job summary

Etna Supply in Negaunee, MI is seeking a Counter Salesperson with a hands-on approach to support counter, warehouse, and yard operations. You will deliver outstanding customer service, process sales orders, and ensure accurate picking and staging of customer orders.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and a positive customer experience in a fast-paced multi-location environment. Previous trades experience is a plus, with opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of related experience and training.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent customer experience by meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
• Assist counter customers by answering questions, identifying needs, and processing sales orders.
• Pick, package, and stage customer orders accurately and efficiently, typically within one hour of order release.
• Understand warehouse/yard layout, bin locations, and product inventory.
• Verify orders, label materials, complete documentation, and stage orders in designated locations.
• Handle materials carefully to prevent damage, shipping errors, and inventory discrepancies.
• Operate material handling equipment safely and follow all safety procedures.
• Support stocking, cleanliness, and organization of the counter, warehouse, and yard.
• Build and maintain positive customer relationships and support product promotions.
• Assist warehouse and other team members as needed.
• Maintain regular, reliable attendance and work safely at all times.

Education
