Job summary

Higginbotham Brothers is seeking a Counter Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors with the sales process in a retail setting. You will greet customers, help with product selection, process payments, and maintain showroom and inventory integrity.

The role supports yard and warehouse operations and may involve location-specific tasks such as cutting keys, painting, and glass work. A high school diploma is required and 1–3 years of related sales experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1-3 years of building material knowledge and sales experience preferred.
• Knowledge of building materials, applications, related equipment, and/or construction industry.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.
• Must be able to drive and walk throughout yards, plants and offices.
• Must be able to multi-task.
• Valid driver’s license may be required based on location and responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers; take orders over the counter, answer questions, and process payments.
• Facilitate product selection for showroom customers and maintain accurate records of selections.
• Process sales through the cash register and handle payments.
• Create invoices, work orders, and sales tickets; enter orders and pricing into systems.
• Purchase special-order products and obtain pricing, specs, and availability.
• Maintain showroom and stockroom appearance, stock levels, and inventory control.
• Bag, box, wrap, and prepare merchandise for shipment or pickup.
• May assist with yard/warehouse operations and operate forklifts after training.
• Attend trainings and meetings to expand product knowledge and perform location-specific services.
