Job summary

Fissco Supply in Spring, Texas is seeking a Counter Sales team member to help customers at the sales counter by identifying HVAC-R parts, recommending products, and processing orders with accuracy and speed. You will interact with contractors and warehouse staff to ensure timely order fulfillment, maintain the showroom, manage inventory, and support promotions and upsell products to meet sales targets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical education a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Sales minded with confidence to recommend products
• Ability to learn technical product lines quickly and share knowledge with customers
• Previous experience in sales or service of HVAC or related equipment preferred
• 1 year of warehouse/material handling experience preferred
• Comfortable using POS systems and basic computer applications
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift merchandise
• 18+ years old
• Bilingual Spanish abilities preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly at the sales counter
• Answer incoming calls and provide customer service including will call, special orders and deliveries
• Maintain showroom and stock areas
• Use software to provide pricing, availability and alternatives
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems and handle payments
• Suggest related items to the customer’s order
• Resolve customer issues to retain loyalty
• Assist customers with loading product into vehicles
• Maintain inventory and report discrepancies
• Coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams for timely fulfillment
• Work as part of a team to meet goals
• Participate in training for HAZMAT and refrigerant handling
• Support promotions and upsell products to meet targets
• Process warranty claims for defective products
• Other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly

About the Role:

Fissco Supply is seeking a Counter Sales team member for our newly opened Spring, Texas location! Our on-site Counter Sales support daily customer activity at the sales counter by identifying HVAC‑R parts and equipment needs, recommending products, and processing orders with accuracy and efficiency. You will interact directly with contractors, technicians, and internal warehouse staff to ensure smooth order fulfillment and exceptional customer service. Additionally, the Counter Sales associate will manage inventory levels, coordinate with other departments, and ensure the sales area is organized and welcoming. Ultimately, this position plays a critical role in driving sales growth and fostering positive customer relationships that encourage repeat business.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist customers promptly and courteously at the sales counter
• Answer incoming customer telephone calls and provide customer service, including will call, special orders and deliveries
• Maintain showroom, displays, customer courtesy area, stock merchandising areas, face shelves, etc.
• Uses the software to provide information on pricing, availability and alternate product selection to complete the customer transactions
• Process sales transactions accurately using POS (point-of-sale) systems and handle cash or electronic payments
• Suggest additional and related items to the customer’s order.
• Resolves customer problems promptly and accurately in a manner that will retain and promote customer loyalty
• Assists the customer with loading product into the customer vehicle
• Maintain inventory by restocking shelves, conducting stock counts, and reporting discrepancies
• Coordinate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure timely order fulfillment
• Works effectively with others in a team environment to accomplish organizational goals and to identify and resolve problems
• Participates in required training to ensure proper compliance of HAZMAT and refrigerant handling when processing transactions
• Supports promotional activities and upsell products to meet sales targets
• Processes warranty claims for defective product
• Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; Technical or trade education is a plus
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Sales minded with the confidence to recommend products and support store goals
• Ability to learn technical product lines quickly and share knowledge with customers
• Previous experience in sales or service of AC/Heating or Refrigeration equipment and parts is preferred. However, other industrial type sales such as hardware, electrical, plumbing, building materials, automotive parts, etc. will be considered
• 1 year of warehouse/material handling experience preferred
• Comfortable using POS systems, order entry software, and basic computer applications
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform light physical tasks such as lifting merchandise
• Must be at least 18 years old
• Bilingual (Spanish) abilities to assist a diverse customer base is preferred but not required
• Must have a professional appearance and attitude
• Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
