Job summary

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. in Chicago is seeking an entry-level Counselor to support substance use disorder treatment at our River North location. You will conduct biopsychosocial assessments, develop treatment plans, and coordinate care with a clinical team.

Responsibilities include maintaining 20+ billable hours weekly, crisis intervention, family counseling, and discharge planning, with opportunities for growth and certification support.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CADC certification required or able to obtain within allotted time of hire.

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatmentorganization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs,including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substanceuse disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. Withover 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state,we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, fromprevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Ourprograms integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment ofsubstance use disorders, including all three medications approved totreat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone).We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outsideclinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patientshave access to harm reduction resources and education.

• Develop patient treatment plans and conducts continued stay reviewbased on research, clinical experience, and patients’ histories -uses assessment programs on computer.
• Provide patient intakes (biopsychosocial assessment), treatmentplanning, case coordination, staffing, aftercare planning anddischarge with individual and group therapy for a full spectrum ofreferral sources.
• Provide direct clinical service to a full caseload, achieving aminimum of 20 billable hours weekly.
• Intervene as an advocate for patients or patients to resolveemergency problems in crisis situations.
• Counsel family members to assist them in understanding, dealingwith, and supporting patients (written authorization by patient mustbe obtained – refer to Federal Confidentiality Regulations forsubstance abuse treatment).
• Maintain at least 50% of work time in face-to-face counseling, contacts.

Schedule: Monday - Friday(6:30a - 3:00p)

Start Date: ASAP

Pay Rate:$43,000 – $ 55,000 per year; based on certificationand experience

Experience and Skills:
