Job summary

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. seeks a Substance Use Counselor to provide individualized treatment plans, intake assessments, and therapy services at our Des Plaines location. The role emphasizes evidence-based care and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED and CADC certification (or ability to obtain within hire). Schedule is Mon-Fri with occasional Saturdays; pay ranges from $43,000 to $55,000 per year, with benefits.

• Ensure at least 51% of work time is spent in direct face-to-face counseling.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Join Our Mission at Family Guidance Centers, Inc. (FGC)! Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is a substance use treatment organization offering comprehensive behavioral health programs, including medication-assisted recovery, to individuals with substance use disorders (SUDs) and co-occurring mental health conditions. With over 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state, we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, from prevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Our programs integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment of substance use disorders, including all three medications approved to treat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone). We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outside clinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patients have access to harm reduction resources and education.

Your Impact as a Substance Use Counselor

Role

In this role, you will:

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using research, clinical experience, and patient history.

Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:30 AM - 2:30 PM) with Saturday rotation (7:30 AM - 10:00 AM)

Start Date: ASAP

Work Location: 484 Lee St., Des Plaines

Pay Rate: $43,000 - $55,000; based on experience and certifications

Required Experience

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
