Job summary

Family Guidance Centers, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Counselor to support individuals with substance use disorders in Des Plaines, IL. You will develop personalized treatment plans, conduct biopsychosocial assessments, and provide direct care in both individual and group settings.

A CADC certification is required or obtainable within the allotted hire period; a High School Diploma or GED is required. The position offers a structured environment with full-time hours and a commitment to

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED is required.
• CADC certification is required or obtainable within allotted hire date.
• Experience in/with substance use, detox programs, MAT, behavioral healthcare or community relations is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement personalized treatment plans using research, clinical experience, and patient history.
• Conduct patient intakes, biopsychosocial assessments, and treatment planning.
• Provide individual and group therapy to a diverse range of clients.
• Maintain a caseload with a minimum of 20 billable hours per week.
• Ensure at least 51% of work time is spent in direct face-to-face counseling.
• Evaluate patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.

Withover 25 years of experience and multiple locations across the state,we provide a full continuum of care for substance use disorder, fromprevention and harm reduction to treatment and recovery support. Ourprograms integrate FDA-approved medications for the treatment ofsubstance use disorders, including all three medications approved totreat opioid use disorder (buprenorphine, methadone, and naltrexone).We strive to meet our patients where they are, bringing care outsideclinic walls via telehealth and mobile services and ensuring patientshave access to harm reduction resources and education.

Your Impact as a Substance Use Counselor

Schedule: Monday - Friday (6:30 AM - 2:30 PM)with Saturday rotation (7:30 AM - 10:00 AM)

Start Date: ASAP

Work Location: 484 Lee St., Des Plaines

Pay Rate: $43,000 - $55,000; based on experience and certifications
