Family Guidance Centers, Inc. seeks an entry-level Counselor at the Austin Health Center in Chicago to provide patient-centered care for substance use disorder. The role involves developing treatment plans, conducting individual and group sessions, and evaluating progress to adjust goals. Schedule: Mon-Fri; Start ASAP.

Work at 4800 W. Chicago Ave (Tue/Thu) and 310 W. Chicago Ave (Mon/Wed/Fri). Pay: $43,000–$55,000/yr, depending on certification and experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) preferred.
• CADC certification within two years of hire or transfer into the position is required if not already certified.

Responsibilities

• Provide counseling services at Austin Health Center with a structured caseload.
• Complete an individualized treatment plan for each patient based on psychosocial assessment.
• Provide group and individual sessions aligned with treatment plans.
• Review and evaluate patients' progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
• Plan and assist with aftercare and continuing recovery after discharge.
• Maintain at least 50% of time in direct, face-to-face counseling.

• Provide counseling services at Austin Health Center with caseloadsstructured and managed to support effective, patient-centered care.
• Complete an individualized treatment plan for each patient oncaseload, addressing all needs identified in the psychosocial assessment.
• Provide group and individual sessions to patients in accordancewith their treatment plan problems, goals, and objectives.
• Review and evaluate patients’ progress and continued stay intreatment in relation to measurable goals and objectives described intreatment and care plans. Modify treatment plans to comply withchanges in patient status.
• Plan and assist with the implementation of aftercare and continuingrecovery plans once patients are discharged from treatment programs.
• Maintain a minimum of 50% of time in direct, face-to-facecounseling contact.

Schedule: Monday - Friday(7:00a - 3:30p)

Pay Rate:$43,000 – $ 55,000 per year; basedon certification and experience

Experience and Skills:

Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma orequivalent required. Bachelor’s degree (or higher) and prior substanceabuse treatment experience preferred. Will consider relevantinternship experience in lieu of paid employment.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Must possessor be eligible to obtain IAODAPCA Certified Alcohol and Other DrugCounselor (CADC) certification. Individuals not currently certifiedare required to obtain the CADC within two years of hire or transferinto the position, in accordance with applicable experience andqualification requirements. Certification must be maintained in goodstanding as a condition of continued employment.
